What is a Physician Associate?

A Physician Associate (PA) is a dependent healthcare professional who is trained to the medical model and works under the supervision of a Consultant or GP.

Postgraduate training courses are intensive full time, two year programmes delivered over at least 45 weeks per year. Entrants are typically biomedical/life science graduates with the minimum of a 2:1 degree. There is also an undergraduate pathway with an integrated masters over 4 years.
